Kuwait intensifies training ahead of qualifiers

Kuwait continues its daily training in Dubai.

 DUBAI, Aug 25: The Kuwait senior soccer team continues its training regimen with sessions scheduled twice a day. Morning sessions are held in the hotel gym, focusing on muscle relaxation and strengthening exercises, while evening sessions take place at the Police Officers Club stadium in Dubai, UAE. The team will remain in Dubai for its training camp until September 2, before departing for Amman, where it will face Jordan on September 5 in the opening match of the decisive round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Kuwait is placed in Group Two alongside South Korea, Iraq, Palestine, and Oman. After the match in Jordan, the team is set to return to Kuwait on September 6 to prepare for hosting Iraq on September 10 in the second round of the qualifiers. Argentine coach Juan Pizzi, who conducted the first training session yesterday evening, held a meeting with the players to outline the preparation program. He emphasized the importance of adhering to his instructions and urged the players to give their best efforts in the upcoming period.

Pizzi selected 25 players for the two matches: Abdulrahman Kamil, Suleiman Abdul Ghafoor, Abdulrahman Al Fadhli, Rashid Al Dosari, Sami Al Sanea, Khaled Ibrahim, Fahad Al Hajri, Khaled Al Fadhli, Salman Burmiah, Faisal Zayed, Mahdi Dashti, Ahmed Al Dhafiri, Adhbi Shihab, Reda Hani, Hamad Harbi, Sultan Al Anzi, Yousef Majed, Salman Al Awadhi, Yousef Nasser, Eid Al Rashidi, Moaz Al Asima, Abdul Mohsen Al Ajmi, Hussein Ashkanani, Ali Khalaf, and Hamad Al Qallaf. Meanwhile, the Jordanian team continues its training in Amman under Moroccan coach Jamal Al Salami. It’s scheduled two closed-door friendly matches against North Korea on August 27 and 29 as part of its preparation camp.
