KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi emphasized that medical conferences provide a valuable platform for experts to exchange knowledge, discuss scientific evidence, and bridge the gap between research findings and everyday clinical practice. During the 9th Scientific Conference of the Amiri Hospital, which was held under the patronage and in the presence of Minister Al-Awadhi, he affirmed that these efforts enhance the quality of medical decision-making and ensure that the patient’s best interests remain at the heart of healthcare. Dr. Al-Awadhi welcomed the participating physicians, consultants, and researchers from Kuwait and abroad, along with guests from the Republic of India, wishing them a pleasant stay and a fruitful scientific exchange.

Dr. Al-Awadhi noted that internal medicine, with its various subspecialties, requires continuous coordination with other medical fields to address patients’ needs comprehensively and holistically. He also welcomed the participation of experts from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India, including the Institute’s Director, Professor Vivek Lal, and the Dean of Academic Affairs and Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Professor Sanjay Jain. Furthermore, he expressed pride in the Kuwaiti Board program in internal medicine and the specialized fellowship programs offered by the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations (KIMS).

He also highlighted Al-Amiri Hospital’s achievement of Stage 6 on the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM), developed by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), describing it as a significant milestone in leveraging digital systems to support healthcare delivery.
