Envoy checks on services provided to Kuwaiti patients in France

KUWAIT CITY, March 4: The Ministry of Health has announced that the recently concluded blood donation campaign ‘Kuwait in My Blood’ resulted in the collection of 2,886 blood bags, reports Al-Jarida daily. In a press statement, Director of Blood Transfusion Services Department at the ministry Dr Reem Al-Radwan, disclosed that the campaign was launched on Feb 14 as part of the celebration of the national holidays. She said the campaign was carried out in the Central Blood Bank and its donation centers and branches, affirming the huge turnout of donors in an initiative to express loyalty and love for the homeland.

She also praised the role of government institutions and socially responsible entities that participated in this campaign, which greatly contributed to strengthening the strategic blood stock. She added that 3,620 blood bags; 922 platelets and 1,900 plasma bags were dispensed to cover the needs of hospitals during the campaign period and the national holidays; indicating this confirms the constant need for blood donors

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Ambassador to France Muhammad Al-Judaea on Wednesday visited Gustave Roussy Hospital to personally look into the services provided by Kuwait Health Office to Kuwaiti patients in France, reports Al-Jarida daily. In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al- Judaea affirmed that the main objectives of the visit include following up services provided to all Kuwaitis in France, reassuring them about their health and determining their needs. He wished them speedy recovery and safe return to the homeland.

He expressed admiration for the quality of medical services provided by the hospital, as well as the available equipment. He also praised the strong Kuwaiti-French ties in the health sector, in addition to the bilateral plans and programs to strengthen international cooperation. He affirmed that both parties are keen on having more achievements based on the deep friendship between the two countries. During the visit, the two parties discussed ways to improve work with the hospital and facilitate treatment procedures. Al-Judaea was accompanied by Health Office Director Dr Fahd Al-Rashidi and Health Attachè Dr Ali Al-Musawi.
