Kuwait Implements Road Diversions as Maintenance Work Begins on Key Routes

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 5: The General Traffic Department, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Works, announced the implementation of partial road closures across several major routes in Kuwait starting Sunday evening, April 5, 2026, as part of its scheduled periodic maintenance program. The closures are aimed at carrying out necessary roadworks to improve infrastructure and ensure long-term traffic safety and efficiency.

According to the announcement, the affected roads include multiple key stretches in the Fahaheel, Shuaiba, and Al-Wafra areas.
  • Partial closure of King Abdulaziz Al Saud Road (Fahaheel Road) for traffic coming from Kuwait City, with diversions at Fahaheel Club Intersection.
  • Partial closure of King Abdulaziz Al Saud Road (Fahaheel Road) for traffic coming from Nuwaiseeb Road, with diversions at Ali Sabah Al Salem Bridge Intersection.
  • Partial closure of Mina Al Ahmadi Road for traffic coming from King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road toward Fahaheel Road.
  • Partial closure of Shuaiba North and South Roads for traffic coming from King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road toward Fahaheel Road.
  • Partial closure of Road 306 (Wafra Road) for traffic coming from Shuaiba Industrial Area Roundabout and Ali Sabah Al Salem toward Fahaheel Road.
  • Partial closure of Khaled Al Safeeh Street in Fahaheel, from Al Kout Roundabout to Al Dhaman Roundabout in South Subahiya.

Authorities emphasized that these measures are temporary and part of ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade road infrastructure across the country.
