DUBAI, June 10: The Kuwait national ice hockey team has completed its training camp in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as preparations intensify for the 4th International Ice Hockey Tournament of the Islamic Countries Forum, set to be held in Kazan, Russia, from June 20 to 24.
Head of delegation and President of the Kuwait Winter Games Club, Fahed Al-Ajmi, said the three-week camp featured a demanding training schedule, with players taking part in three sessions daily to enhance both their technical and physical readiness ahead of the competition.
Al-Ajmi noted that the team benefited from three friendly matches against UAE sides Dubai Camels, Galaxy, and Abu Dhabi Storm, with the encounters helping improve team cohesion and match fitness.
He expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to produce strong performances and achieve positive results in the upcoming tournament, while praising the continued support provided by Minister of State for Youth Affairs Dr. Tareq Al-Jalahma, the Kuwait Olympic Committee, and the Public Authority for Sports. He added that such backing plays a key role in advancing winter sports in Kuwait and expanding their popularity across the country.
