Kuwait hosts robotics workshop to empower girls in science and technology
The Kuwait National Robotics Championship organizes a scientific workshop for girls to discover Kuwaiti talents in the fields of science and technology.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: The Kuwait National Robotics Championship held a dedicated scientific workshop for girls on Saturday at the College of Science in Sabah Al-Salem University City, aiming to nurture young Kuwaiti talent in science, technology, and innovation.

Organizing committee member Dr. Maha Al-Abduljaleel told KUNA that the one-day workshop was designed to raise awareness and introduce girls, aged 8 to 14, from elementary and intermediate levels, to the exciting world of robotics and technology. She noted that registration exceeded 100 participants, reflecting strong interest and enthusiasm among young learners.

Students took part in four specialized workshops: a drone technology session, a robotics assembly lab, a space-themed satellite assembly class, and a scientific knowledge workshop, each tailored to spark creativity and build foundational STEM skills.

Dr. Al-Abduljaleel emphasized that the workshop not only promotes scientific creativity but also raises awareness about the Kuwait National Robotics Championship itself. “It is a national platform to discover and nurture Kuwaiti talents in science and technology, while encouraging girls to step confidently into the tech world,” she said.

She also praised the active collaboration with the scientific departments at Kuwait University's College of Science and extended appreciation to the various partners — including companies and civil and educational institutions—who contribute to the success of the tournament annually.

“This initiative reflects a model of integrated national cooperation, showcasing a productive partnership between the public and private sectors,” Dr. Al-Abduljaleel concluded.
