KUWAIT CITY, Apr 22: The Ministry of Oil has outlined a sweeping push to integrate artificial intelligence across the country’s oil industry, aiming to boost efficiency, cut costs, and enhance environmental safety.
In a new advisory, the ministry detailed how AI is being deployed in exploration and drilling, where advanced systems analyze geological and seismic data to identify oil and gas reserves with greater precision, reducing operational risks and improving success rates.
During drilling operations, real-time data analysis powered by intelligent systems is helping optimize performance, shorten project timelines, and increase overall productivity.
The ministry also emphasized AI’s role in pipeline monitoring, with early leak detection technologies designed to minimize losses and strengthen environmental protection measures.
Predictive maintenance is another key focus, using sensor data to forecast equipment failures before they occur—reducing unplanned shutdowns and extending asset lifespan.
Beyond field operations, AI is being applied to logistics and supply chains, enabling better demand forecasting, smarter inventory management, and more efficient distribution systems.
The advisory, issued through the Government Communication Center, underscores Kuwait’s broader strategy to modernize its energy sector through digital transformation and advanced technologies.
