Kuwait Healthcare Workforce Back to Full Capacity From May 3

KUWAIT CITY, April 29: The Ministry of Health has announced the resumption of periodic leave for healthcare workers along with the full return of surgical operations across all health facilities in the country, starting Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said surgical procedures will return to full operational capacity according to approved schedules and plans in all hospitals and health facilities.

He stated that the decision comes in light of stable performance indicators and the continued high efficiency and readiness of Kuwait’s healthcare system.

Dr. Al-Sanad added that the ministry will continue to closely monitor operational indicators to ensure ongoing preparedness and the ability to respond swiftly to any developments.

He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of healthcare personnel, noting that their dedication and commitment played a key role in achieving the current level of stability and maintaining uninterrupted medical services.
