KUWAIT CITY, May 7: The Ministry of Health has begun activating an electronic system for dispensing nutritional supplements through the Salem application, as part of its digital transformation plan for health services.
Ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said the service has already been introduced in most hospitals and will be gradually expanded to the remaining health facilities.
The new system covers several types of nutritional supplements, including liquid nutritional formulas taken orally or through feeding tubes, also known as enteral feeding. It also includes medical milk for children with metabolic disorders, such as PKU, as well as hypoallergenic formulas and some types of medical milk for elderly patients or those with specific therapeutic needs.
Through the Salem app, patients can track the status of their requests, receive notifications when supplements are ready for collection, and renew dispensing requests electronically.
The ministry explained that users can access the service by logging into the Salem application, selecting Services, and then choosing the Nutritional Supplement Dispensing System .
The Ministry of Health said the step aims to simplify procedures for patients and improve access to health services through digital platforms.
