Kuwait health minister revokes licenses of four private pharmacies
Kuwait Health Ministry revoked the licenses of four private pharmacies for violating professional practice regulations.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi on Tuesday issued a ministerial decree revoking the licenses of four private pharmacies after they were found to have violated professional practice regulations for the distribution of medicines and medical products.

The Ministry of Health said in a press release that the decision is based on Ministerial Resolution No. 237 of 2025, which governs licensing procedures for private sector pharmacies and the distribution of pharmaceutical products.

The move reflects the Ministry’s commitment to enforcing approved regulatory frameworks and upholding professional discipline as a cornerstone of public health protection.

The Ministry emphasized that monitoring private pharmacies is an ongoing effort aimed at ensuring full compliance with professional and regulatory standards, maintaining the quality of pharmaceutical services, and boosting public confidence in the healthcare system.

One of the pharmacies included in the decree has multiple branches across the country, highlighting that regulations apply to all establishments regardless of size or reach, the Ministry said.

The Ministry added that inspection campaigns are continuing across private pharmacies in different regions, following an institutional framework that combines regular monitoring with corrective action to safeguard public health and ensure the safe handling of medicines.
