KUWAIT CITY, July 18: Kuwait's youth squash team has travelled to Canada to take part in the World Junior Squash Championships, which get underway on Monday and continue until July 31.
The tournament will begin with four days of individual competition before the focus shifts to the team event.
The Kuwaiti delegation is led by Kuwait Squash Federation Assistant Secretary-General Hamad Al-Dughaim and includes technical director Sherine Adel, fitness coach Ahmed Al-Sayed, and players Khaled Al-Fawzan, Abdullah Hani, Abdulrahman Al-Sanea and Abdulrahman Al-Kandari.
The team wrapped up its preparations with an intensive training programme featuring twice-daily sessions in Kuwait before heading to Cairo for a 10-day training camp. During the camp, the players faced top Egyptian opposition in a series of high-level practice matches, allowing the coaching staff to refine tactical and technical aspects while further enhancing the players' physical conditioning.
Al-Dughaim said the Cairo camp had significantly boosted the squad's confidence, adding that the quality of the friendly matches gave the players valuable international experience and strengthened their readiness for the demanding competition ahead.
He expressed hope that Kuwait would deliver a strong performance in Canada and secure positive results in both the individual and team events, highlighting the steady progress of the country's emerging squash talent.
