Kuwait heads to Bahrain for pre-squash championship camp

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: Kuwait’s under-17 and under-13 teams departed for Manama, Bahrain, to take part in a four-day training camp ahead of the 31st Arab Squash Championship, which begins on January 28.

The delegation is led by Hamad Al-Omran, Secretary General of the Squash Federation. The under-17 squad includes Abdullah Hani, Abdulrahman Al-Kandari, Abdulmohsen Al-Otaibi, Saleh Al-Kandari, Abdullah Ma’youf, and Hamoud Al-Sawagh. The under-13 team features Salman Al-Saleh, Saqr Al-Kandari, Abdullah Al-Ali, Yazan Al-Ahmad, Khaled Al-Mudhn, and Saud Al-Fawzan.

The technical staff accompanying the teams comprises head coach Sherin Adel, Coach Ahmed Sabai, and fitness coach Ahmed Al-Sayed.

In preparation for the championship, the players have been training intensively for nearly a month with daily morning and evening sessions at Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah International Squash Center in South Surra.

The Arab Championship will see participation from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, and Kuwait.

Hamad Al-Omran emphasized that the Kuwaiti teams aim to win gold and secure podium finishes in both individual and team competitions, highlighting that the country’s squash players are consistently strong contenders in regional tournaments.
