KUWAIT, March 1, (KUNA): Secretary-General of Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) Ali Bin Sabt praised Kuwait’s active role and important position in supporting joint Arab action at all levels decades ago, as its path of generosity and tender that is still going on.

In a statement, on the occasion of Kuwait national celebrations, bin Sabt said that Kuwait has pioneering contributions and initiatives regionally and internationally in various fields, and in providing help to poor countries that suffer from weakness in their infrastructure and a shortage of energy resources.

Kuwait has a vital and important role in supporting joint Arab projects in the field of energy, he said, including projects to strengthen Arab electrical interconnection networks, natural gas networks, and link transport networks between Arab countries, especially road transport.

Kuwait was one of the founding countries of the OAPEC in January 1968, and it has hosted the permanent headquarters of the organization since its establishment, bin Sabt said.
