Kuwait handball team defeats Iraq

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: The Kuwait Men’s Junior handball team won against Iraq 35-12 in the fourth stage of second group in 9th Asian Junior Handball Championship held in Bahrain. This is the second victory for the Kuwait team; earlier Kuwait defeated UAE and suffered defeats with Japan and Saudi Arabia. Kuwait with 4 points is placed in third spot.

Kuwait Goalkeeper Hadi Baqer was chosen best player of the match. Kuwait will play their last match against Qatar which is a must win to acquire third place.

In other games Qatar lost to Japan 21-31. Saudi Arabia defeated UAE 37-27. Japan and Saudi Arabia are tied with 8 points and have booked their place in the semi-finals of the World Cup to be played in Croatia.
