ZAGREB , Jan 2: Kuwait national handball team is nearing the conclusion of its international preparation phase as it readies itself for participation in the 21st Asian Championship for men’s teams, also serving as the “2025 World Cup Qualifiers.” This significant event is scheduled to take place in the Kingdom of Bahrain from January 11 to 25, where our team will compete in the first group alongside Qatar, Oman, and China Taipei. Kuwait underwent an extensive European camp in Slovenia and Croatia, engaging in several test matches to fine-tune their skills.

Guided by coach Saeed Hegazy, supported by compatriot Mohamed Masoudan, the technical staff of our Algerian national handball team emphasized both the physical and technical aspects during the European training camp. The focus extended to implementing strategic plans for defense and offense, preparing the team comprehensively for the challenges they will face in the upcoming Asian Championship.

Hegazy made the final selections for the squad, concluding the camp this Saturday before the team returns home and subsequently heads to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Faisal Siwan, the Director of the National Teams, affirmed that the training camp is progressing according to the established roadmap. He emphasized the significance of friendly matches in enhancing player understanding, harmony, and field experience. Siwan expressed satisfaction with the high fighting spirit displayed by the players and their determination to achieve peak physical and technical conditions. He noted the players’ commitment to representing Kuwait at the Asian Championship, while the administrative body works diligently to overcome obstacles and create an environment conducive to their mental and artistic development.

In a separate development, our national junior and youth teams have resumed local training at the Martyr Fahd Al-Ahmad Center in Daiya. This preparation is geared towards upcoming matches, following the plan crafted by the Handball Federation’s training body and national teams’ technical staff.
