KUWAIT CITY, Sept 13: The Kuwait Handball Federation, through its Development Committee and in cooperation with the Asian and International Handball Federations, concluded the C-license handball coaching course earlier this week. The program was led by international lecturer Dr. Khaled Al-Shurji.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Federation’s Assistant Secretary, Abdullah Al-Dhiab, who presented certificates to the participants and honored Dr. Al-Shurji for his contributions.
Dr. Al-Shurji explained that the course forms part of the International Handball Federation’s structured program to train and develop coaches, which consists of four levels: D, C, B, and A.
He highlighted that the Asian Handball Federation adopted this initiative under a work plan introduced in 2023 and launched the following year, intending to advance coaching standards across Asia through intensive training courses.
Kuwait, he noted, has already hosted five such courses in the past year and a half—an achievement he described as highly significant.
Dr. Al-Shurji also expressed his satisfaction with the participation of 30 coaches from Kuwait and other Gulf countries, including four women, pointing out that their commitment to self-development will have a positive impact on youth league teams in the future.
