KUWAIT CITY, July 3 (KUNA): The Kuwait Winter Games Club (WGC) has announced that the International Skating Union (ISU) has officially granted Kuwait full membership in figure skating under the name “Kuwait Figure Skating Federation,” marking a major milestone for the sport’s development in the country.

WGC Chairman Fahad Al-Ajmi shared the news from Switzerland, where the ISU’s 2025 General Assembly is currently taking place. He emphasized that the membership opens new international opportunities for Kuwaiti female skaters, enabling them to gain valuable experience and exposure through global competitions.

Al-Ajmi extended congratulations to all members of the federation and the Winter Games Club, praising their efforts in achieving this historic recognition. He also expressed deep appreciation to the Kuwait Olympic Committee, led by Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al-Sabah, for its continued support of the five winter sports under the club’s supervision.

This recognition marks a significant step forward for figure skating in Kuwait and paves the way for broader participation on the international stage.
