KUWAIT, Dec 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the targeting of Aden airport in Yemen during the arrival of the newly Yemeni government, which resulted in the killing and wounding of dozens of innocent people.

People run after an explosion at the airport in Aden, Yemen, shortly after a plane carrying the newly-formed Cabinet landed on Dec 30. No one on board the government plane was hurt but initial reports said several people at the airport were killed. (AP)


In a statement, the ministry stated that such cowardly terrorist act aims at thwarting the positive steps achieved through the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement and the formation of the new Yemeni government.
The ministry expressed confidence that such action would not deter the new Yemeni government from carrying out its duties in a way that achieves the hopes and aspirations of the Yemeni people, security, and stability to the country.
The statement noted on Kuwait's solidarity with Yemen, expressing its condolences to victims of the attack and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.
