KUWAIT CITY: As part of intensified security operations targeting drug trafficking networks, Kuwait’s Criminal Security Sector, through the General Directorate for Drug Control, arrested six suspects in separate cases for possessing psychotropic substances with the intent to use and traffic them.

Authorities confirmed that multiple types of narcotics and illegal substances were seized during the operations, including 1,700 capsules of Lyrica, 3 grams of methamphetamine, 500 grams of hashish, 50 grams of cocaine, 400 ml of chemical oil, and 30 grams of unidentified chemical substances. Officials also recovered drug paraphernalia, an electronic hookah containing chemical oil, and empty packaging materials prepared for distribution.

In a separate coordinated operation, Kuwaiti authorities, working in close cooperation with the General Administration of Customs and counterpart agencies in the United Arab Emirates, successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of liquid methamphetamine via air freight. A suspect was arrested in possession of 5 kilograms of the substance.

The Ministry of Interior stated that all suspects and seized materials have been referred to the competent authorities for legal action. It reaffirmed its strict stance against drug trafficking and abuse, emphasizing continued security campaigns and cross-border cooperation to dismantle drug networks and protect society from narcotics-related crimes.
