KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 30: In a decisive move to bolster public safety and enforce fire prevention standards, the Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) on Tuesday carried out a large-scale inspection campaign in the Al-Ardiya Industrial Area, resulting in the administrative closure of 33 shops and facilities found in violation of fire safety regulations.

The operation was supervised by Acting Deputy Chief of the Fire Service for Civil Protection, Brigadier Omar Bouresli, as part of a broader national initiative to ensure compliance with safety protocols across the country.

Brigadier Bouresli told KUNA that the campaign comes in direct implementation of the directives issued by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, who has called for intensified inspection efforts to uphold Kuwait’s national responsibility in preserving lives, property, and public safety.

He emphasized that the KFF continues to carry out daily inspection campaigns across all regions of Kuwait, targeting violations such as improper or random storage, lack of necessary licenses, and poorly maintained or neglected fire safety equipment.

Since the start of the campaign, firefighting teams have been monitoring non-compliant buildings and facilities, working systematically to apply approved fire safety and prevention standards. Brigadier Bouresli called on institutions and property owners to fully comply with all fire safety regulations and to cooperate with KFF inspection teams, warning that non-compliance may lead to facility closures or legal action.

“The primary objective is not punishment,” he stressed, “but to protect lives and property and ensure a safe environment for everyone.”

The campaign forms part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to elevate safety standards and reinforce civil protection mechanisms across industrial and commercial zones.
