KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Kuwait’s under-17 team suffered a 0-4 defeat to Saudi Arabia at Hamad Al-Kabeer Stadium, in the second round of Group B in the Gulf U-17 Championship.
Saudi Arabia dominated the match, taking the lead in stoppage time of the first half with a goal from Sabri Abdo. Early in the second half, Abdulhadi added a header in the 52nd minute, before scoring again in the 82nd. Abdo completed the 4-0 victory with another goal in the 87th minute.
Meanwhile, Iraq secured a 2-0 win over Bahrain at Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium, with captain Zain Al-Abidin Al-Rubaie scoring both goals.
The results confirmed Saudi Arabia at the top of the group with 6 points, Iraq in second with 4 points, and Kuwait in third with 1 point, while Bahrain remains at the bottom with no points.
In the opening round, Kuwait drew 1-1 with Iraq, and Saudi Arabia defeated Bahrain 4-0 to lead the group standings.
