KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi recently held a comprehensive meeting with the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC). The meeting focused on strategizing the relocation to the new KCCC building and maximizing the benefits of the collaborative memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the internationally recognized Gustave Roussy Hospital. Discussions included the latest progress on the new facility, which is being designed to meet the highest international medical standards and significantly enhance specialized healthcare in Kuwait.
They also reviewed detailed plans and preparations for the logistical, technical, and operational aspects of the move to ensure a smooth transition without disrupting ongoing patient treatment services. Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al- Awadhi emphasized the ministry’s commitment to enhancing cancer care for citizens and residents. He described the partnership with Gustave Roussy Hospital as a “strategic addition” that will strengthen KCCC’s capabilities in training, treatment, and scientific research. Dr. Al-Awadhi praised the efforts of the KCCC board and staff, affirming the ministry’s full support for initiatives aimed at refining treatment protocols, strengthening early diagnosis programs, and improving psychological and social support for patients and their families. He stressed that these initiatives align with New Kuwait 2035 vision for the health sector. It is worth highlighting that the MoU signed with Gustave Roussy Hospital, a global leader in cancer research and treatment, is designed to boost cooperation in training, knowledge transfer, and the development of treatment and research programs, all for advancing Kuwait’s goal of becoming a regional hub for cancer care.
