Kuwait’s Ambassador to South Korea Azzam Al-Asfour receives a delegation of outstanding students

KUWAIT CITY, July 29: Kuwait’s Ambassador to South Korea Azzam Al-Asfour praised South Korea’s technological progress, stressing the importance of benefiting from its expertise, particularly in oil, energy, artificial intelligence and information technology. In a statement to KUNA on Wednesday, the Kuwaiti Embassy in Seoul said that Al-Asfour made the remarks while receiving a delegation of high school students participating in Kuwait Oil Company’s “Nabd” awareness program, headed by the company’s Public Relations and Media Manager Mohammad Al-Basri. The ambassador also highlighted the advances made by South Korean universities in AI-related fields, underscoring the importance of developing skills, expanding knowledge and keeping pace with technological developments to prepare qualified national cadres. Al-Asfour expressed hope for an increase in Kuwaiti students pursuing advanced and specialized fields, including electronic engineering, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, affirming the embassy’s readiness to strengthen cooperation between Kuwaiti and South Korean institutions. The student delegation also visited museums, scientific centers, major landmarks in Seoul and leading technology and AI companies. Launched by Kuwait Oil Company in 2014, the “Nabd” program aims to promote economic and petroleum awareness among youth while fostering leadership and knowledge of Kuwait’s national resources. (KUNA)
