KUWAIT CITY, Mar 2: The Public Authority for Manpower has stressed the importance of following occupational safety procedures to protect lives and property, and to ensure rapid emergency response, highlighting the Authority’s commitment to the health and safety of workers across all worksites. Employers and employees are urged to adhere to the following:
- Immediate Work Suspension: Stop work immediately upon hearing sirens or receiving official warnings of danger. High-risk sites, including energy and oil facilities, should coordinate with Civil Defense and follow official instructions regarding the sirens.
- Evacuation Procedures: Implement the facility’s approved evacuation plan promptly and in an organized manner. High-risk sites must coordinate with Civil Defense before moving to designated assembly points or safe shelters.
- Use of Exits: Avoid using elevators during evacuations and follow emergency exit routes.
- Contact Authorities: Reach out to relevant authorities and emergency services, and follow instructions from official bodies.
- Cooperation: Fully cooperate with safety officials to ensure the safety of all personnel and prevent panic.
The Authority also emphasized that employers should periodically review emergency plans, maintain alarm system readiness, and conduct regular drills to educate workers on evacuation procedures. Compliance with these instructions is described as a national duty and shared responsibility, reflecting professional awareness and a commitment to protecting lives during crises.
