Kuwait endorses GCC payment system linkage to boost economic ties
Kuwait ratifies historic agreement to link payment systems across GCC member states.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31: The Official Gazette (Kuwait Today) today published several decrees approving international agreements and a memorandum of understanding signed with various countries.

Amiri Decree No. 130 of 2025 ratifies the agreement to link payment systems between Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. The agreement aims to strengthen ties and enhance cooperation among GCC countries across multiple sectors, in line with the economic pact focused on bolstering the region’s economies amid evolving global economic conditions.

Decree No. 163 of 2025 approves a memorandum of understanding between the Government of Kuwait and the Government of the Sultanate of Oman on consumer protection, intended to enhance regulatory frameworks and safeguard consumer rights in both countries.

Decree No. 164 of 2025 ratifies an agreement between the Government of Kuwait and the Government of the People’s Republic of China for the allocation of land to establish the Consulate General of Kuwait in Guangzhou.

Decree No. 165 of 2025 approves an agreement between the Government of Kuwait and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan to cooperate in the fields of culture and the arts, promoting cultural exchange and collaboration.

These decrees underline Kuwait’s continued efforts to deepen bilateral and regional cooperation across economic, diplomatic, and cultural domains.
