Kuwait embarks on ‘month-long’ celebrations of national holidays

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: The Permanent National Committee for the Celebration of National Holidays and Occasions announced that the national holidays celebrations will run until next March 31. This comes in conjunction with the decision of the Council of Ministers to ease restrictions and health requirements related to the corona pandemic, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Anwar Murad the official spokesman for the Ministry of Information told the daily the Celebration Committee has launched a national campaign to celebrate the national holidays 2022, under the slogan ‘A paradise for us all’, and decided to extend the programs, events and activities of national celebrations of “the 61st National Day and the 31st Liberation Day”, until Thursday, March 31, noting that the committee seeks to add more joy and pride to national occasions, which is a cherished memory for every citizen and resident of Kuwait.

Murad revealed the celebration programs will be distinguished through performances that will be witnessed in all regions of the State of Kuwait, with the participation of various state institutions, including a presentation by the Ministry of Defense with the participation of the Ministry of Interior and the National Guard next to the Kuwait Towers, in addition to an air show by the Kuwaiti Air Force.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of the National Day of Kuwait, the Embassy of India, in Kuwait is organizing a week-long cultural festival under the title ‘Namaste Kuwait’ from Feb 20 to Feb 28, 2022 as part of the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence and 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Kuwait, says a press release issued by the Indian Embassy. The festival will be inaugurated on Feb 20, 2022 at 18:00 hrs at the Embassy Auditorium, Embassy of India, Diplomatic Enclave, Arabian Gulf Street. 3. All Indian nationals and friends of India in Kuwait are cordially invited to attend the inaugural ceremony and events during the festival. The details of the program will be uploaded on Embassy’s social media platforms.
