Kuwait earns its first Arab Junior Volleyball Championship win

MANAMA, Aug 15: Kuwait recorded its first victory at the second Arab Junior Volleyball Championship in Manama, Bahrain, beating Jordan 3-0 in the fourth round.

The Blues dominated the match, winning 25-15, 25-12, and 25-20 to secure a convincing victory after previously suffering defeats against Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.

Kuwait played its final tournament match against Algeria late yesterday as the competition moved toward its conclusion.

Elsewhere, Egypt defeated Algeria 3-0, while Bahrain secured a 3-0 victory over Saudi Arabia.

The title was set to be decided today when hosts Bahrain face Egypt. Both teams had eight points from four consecutive victories going into the decisive encounter.

Meanwhile, Lebanon swept the titles at the second and final round of the West Asia Beach Volleyball Championship in Batroun. Mirna Al-Sheikho and Lara Al-Nahi won the women’s title, while Jad Abi Karam and Hadi Shbieb captured the men’s crown.

Kuwait also took part in the beach volleyball competition, with its players delivering encouraging performances and gaining valuable experience ahead of future regional events.
