Kuwait drawn in a tough group at the Germany World Championship

MUNICH, June 11: The draw for the 2027 IHF World Men’s Handball Championship, held in Germany, has placed Kuwait in a demanding Group D alongside France, Argentina, and Brazil, setting up one of the most competitive pools in the preliminary round.

Kuwait faces a significant challenge against three experienced sides with strong international pedigrees. Despite the difficulty of the group, Kuwait’s participation marks an important milestone and an opportunity to showcase the continued progress of its handball program in recent years.

The tournament will also serve as a platform for Kuwait to underline its growing ambitions on the world stage, following a successful qualification campaign in the Asian qualifiers that secured its place among the world’s elite.

Fans in Kuwait will be hoping for a spirited performance from “Al-Azraq” as the team prepares to test itself against top-tier global opposition.

Group A: Germany, Serbia, Tunisia, and Uruguay.

Group B: Egypt, Italy, Cape Verde, and Saudi Arabia

Group C: Croatia, Spain, Chile, and Turkey.

Group E: Sweden, Norway, Greece, and Qatar.

Group F: Portugal, the Faroe Islands, Poland, and Algeria.

Group G: Denmark, Slovenia, the United States, and Angola.

Group H: Iceland, North Macedonia, Bahrain, and Japan.
