KUWAIT CITY, Oct 3: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has deported Egyptian fashionista Nourhan, widely known on social media as “Pocahontas,” and ordered her removal from the country in what authorities described as a measure taken “for the public interest.”
The development follows an earlier investigation involving the Egyptian social-media figure. Arab Times reported in April that the case had expanded after investigators uncovered alleged links involving money laundering, unexplained increases in assets and human trafficking, with the probe also involving her mother and several associates. Authorities said at the time that the investigation was continuing and that additional suspects could be involved.
The latest deportation order means Nourhan is no longer permitted to remain in Kuwait. The deportation is based on a reference to the public interest. The case underscores Kuwait’s continued enforcement measures against individuals accused of violating laws and regulations, with the authorities stressing that no one is above the law.
