Kuwait deplores terrorist bombing attack at Peshawar mosque

KUWAIT, March 4: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent on Friday a cable of sincere condolences to Pakistan’s President Arif Alawi on the victims of the “terrorist” blast that targeted a mosque in Peshawar City, northwest of Pakistan.

In the cable, His Highness the Amir expressed Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation of this gruesome “terrorist” act that targeted the innocents. He prayed to Allah the Almighty to bestow mercy on the victims’ souls and to bring solace to their relatives, wishing a rapid recovery to those injured.

The Foreign Ministry expressed Friday’s Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist bombing attack at a mosque in the Pakistani city of Peshawar which left dozens of worshipers dead and scores others injured.

The ministry also voiced Kuwait’s solidarity with the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan and backing to all the measures it takes to maintain security and stability. The ministry extended sincere condolences to families of the victims and wished the injured speedy recovery.

The death toll of the suicide blast inside a mosque that shook Peshawar city of Pakistan’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province rise to 56 people while 194 others received injuries. A spokesperson for the government run Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Mohammad Asim in a statement to media confirmed that 56 people lost their lives while 194 others were injured in the suicide attack on Friday, adding that some of the injured were in critical condition. A medical emergency was also notified in Peshawar district with all doctors and support staff at government health facilities and medical teaching institutions directed to remain on red alert (KUNA)
