KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Kuwait’s national men’s handball team is set to leave for Cairo this evening for an overseas training camp in preparation for the Asian Championship, which Kuwait will host in mid-January as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The delegation is led by Handball Federation Treasurer Khalid Taleb and includes team manager Abdulaziz Al-Zaabi, head coach Aron Kristanson from Iceland, assistant coach Heini from Serbia, goalkeeper coach Marwan Maqayez, coach Ayman Al-Sheikh, and the medical team led by physiotherapist Mahdi Al-Bakoush.
Meanwhile, the (D) Coaching License Course kicked off yesterday, organized by the Kuwait Handball Federation in cooperation with the International and Asian Handball Federations at the Abdullah Al-Salem Leadership Training Center in Khaldiya.
On the opening day, Asian Handball Federation President Bader Al-Diyab was honored. He commended the Kuwait Handball Federation for its efforts in hosting training programs and wished all participants success.
Al-Diyab highlighted that the involvement of Kuwaiti coaches and staff in such programs demonstrates the country’s commitment to developing technical expertise and raising the standard of handball at the international level.
