KUWAIT CITY, March 26: Kuwait’s Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah conducted an inspection visit to Kuwait International Airport on Thursday to assess damage following a drone attack targeting aircraft fuel supply tanks.
During the visit, the minister reviewed the extent of material damage and ongoing response efforts, including firefighting operations to contain the blaze. Officials confirmed that the damage was limited to infrastructure, with no injuries reported.
A joint briefing was presented by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Kuwait and the Kuwait Fire Force, outlining response measures, safety protocols, and coordination among authorities.
The minister praised the swift response of firefighting teams, including support from the Kuwaiti Army, National Guard, and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, commending their efforts in protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring public safety.
He also expressed appreciation for the dedication of personnel involved, highlighting their role in safeguarding national security and maintaining stability amid ongoing challenges.
