KUWAIT CITY, Sep 8: The Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) has officially announced the end of the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) outbreak in Kuwait. The authority also endorsed the measures implemented by the Animal Health Department to control the epidemic and approved the final report issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), which formally declared the epidemic over.

PAAAFR commended the dedicated efforts of all personnel in the livestock sector, including the Animal Health Department, Animal Production Department, Medical Laboratories Department, and veterinarians, as well as the cooperation of cattle breeders, the Dairy Producers Union, and farm workers.

The authority also emphasized the importance of continued adherence to biosecurity measures on farms and prompt reporting to the Animal Health Department in the event of any future outbreaks, aiming to prevent the spread of diseases and safeguard Kuwait’s livestock.
