KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: In a decisive blow against drug trafficking, the General Administration of Customs has foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics into the country after seizing a suspicious air cargo shipment arriving from the United Kingdom via transit and destined for Kuwait International Airport.

Customs officials stated that the shipment raised red flags during routine inspection procedures, prompting a thorough examination. The search revealed cannabis resin (hashish) cleverly concealed within the cargo. Authorities seized 12 pieces of the narcotic substance, with a total weight of approximately 1.142 kilograms.

The General Administration of Customs confirmed that all necessary legal measures were immediately taken. A formal seizure report was prepared, and the case was referred to the competent authorities for completion of legal proceedings in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Reaffirming its unwavering commitment to protecting society from the scourge of drugs, Customs stressed that inspection teams continue to tighten security at all ports of entry. The administration underscored that such efforts are carried out in close cooperation and coordination with relevant security agencies to thwart smuggling attempts that pose a serious threat to national security and public safety.
