KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: Customs officials at Shuwaikh Port successfully prevented the entry of around 260,000 bags of banned tobacco in two separate incidents. The illicit goods were concealed within an empty diesel tank and wooden furniture panels originating from a Gulf country.

Osama Al-Shami, the Deputy Director General for Customs Ports Affairs, emphasized the vigilant role of customs officers in safeguarding the nation against those attempting to smuggle prohibited materials. Expressing gratitude, Abdullah Al-Sharhan, the Director General of the General Administration of Customs, extended appreciation to all personnel across various customs ports — land, sea, and air — for their dedication to arresting those attempting to compromise the country’s security.
