Kuwait Customs Intensifies Airport Monitoring to Protect National Security

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 2: The Director General of Customs, Yousef Al-Nuwaif, accompanied by the Deputy Director General for Research and Investigation Affairs, Saleh Al-Omar, carried out an inspection tour of Terminals 1 and 5 at Kuwait International Airport.

During the visit, the officials toured passenger inspection centers and their specialised departments, where they were briefed by senior officers on operational systems and procedures in place to ensure the smooth and efficient inspection of travellers, while maintaining strict compliance with customs regulations.

Al-Nuwaif stressed the importance of intensifying efforts and enhancing coordination among various customs departments to further streamline passenger processing and safeguard the country against smuggling attempts.

He also praised the dedication of customs inspectors, highlighting their crucial role in supporting national security and protecting the state’s economic interests. The Director General emphasised the need to continue field monitoring and inspection operations to strengthen discipline, preparedness, and overall performance.

He added that the Directorate General of Customs is moving forward with its development and modernisation plans to keep pace with global challenges and evolving practices in customs operations.
