Kuwait customs foil bid to smuggle 10 million contraband pills

Kuwait, July 12: Kuwait customs officers have seized 10 million Tamol pills enlisted among narcotics that affect human mental condition at Shuwaikh Port.

The banned drugs were shipped from an Asian country through a 40 feet container with manifest (Electrical and Medical Appliances). The importer tried to smuggle the shipment into Kuwait illegally, when his options ran out he tried to send the drugs abroad.

Director of Kuwait customs Al Jalawi said the container was re-examined when the importer tried to reship the content abroad which aroused the suspicion among the officers in charge.

Screening devices showed that the carton boxes were packed with prohibited pills. These drugs are illegal to use in Kuwait only under medical prescription in some cases of physical or psychological illnesses are subject to regulations and term (KUNA)
