KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13: Kuwait’s General Traffic Department has seized two vehicles wanted for reckless driving violations after they were found hidden inside a farm in the Al-Wafra agricultural area. The drivers were subsequently arrested and referred to the Central Prison.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the operation was carried out by the Security Control Department after patrols monitoring the area spotted the two vehicles entering a farm in an apparent attempt to hide them.
Investigations revealed that both vehicles were wanted in connection with previous reckless driving violations that had been documented on video.
The department coordinated with the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources before entering the farm and seizing the vehicles.
The drivers were later apprehended and confessed during questioning to the violations attributed to them.
Traffic citations were issued for multiple offences, including reckless driving, endangering the lives of others, driving vehicles producing excessive noise, displaying stickers and writings, and driving without license plates.
The drivers were referred to the Central Prison, while both vehicles were impounded in accordance with Article 33 bis of the Traffic Law.
The General Traffic Department warned that reckless and negligent driving, particularly behaviour that endangers other road users, would be met with strict enforcement of the law.
It added that monitoring and enforcement operations would continue to identify violators and hold accountable those who threaten road safety.
