Kuwait Crown Prince Meets UN Chief, Calls for Greater Efforts to Ease Global Tensions

NEW YORK, Sept 20: His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, representing His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, Sheikh Sabah Khaled affirmed Kuwait’s keenness to participate in the Assembly’s proceedings actively, stressing the sensitivity of the current phase and the need for concerted international efforts to de-escalate tensions.

He also emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of the United Nations and enhancing its mechanisms to address successive crises, thereby contributing to regional and international security and stability.

His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, representing His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, met with Dr. Khalil ur Rahman, President of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, in New York. During the meeting, Sheikh Sabah Khaled affirmed Kuwait’s full support for the Presidency’s efforts to strengthen cooperation among UN member states and advance the Sustainable Development Goals. The two sides also discussed key agenda items of the current session and prominent international issues.
