KUWAIT CITY, Nov 15: As part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency in supervisory appointments and ensure the authenticity of academic qualifications in both the public and private sectors, the Academic Certificates Examination Committee continues its work to verify and accredit employees’ educational credentials. The initiative aims to strengthen confidence in national competencies and promote fairness and equal opportunities in the job market.
According to informed sources, the Civil Service Bureau has circulated lists to various government entities containing the names of employees currently holding supervisory roles whose academic qualifications could not be verified or matched with an approved equivalency. This came after the committee reviewed their information through the Ministry of Higher Education and found no records confirming the validity or equivalence of their certificates.
The Civil Service Bureau has instructed the concerned government agencies to notify the employees listed and require them to submit an official request for certificate recognition to the Ministry of Higher Education within a specified timeframe. Agencies have also been asked to provide proof that these employees have submitted the necessary requests and to update the Bureau on any developments.
Sources emphasized that this measure is part of a broader government initiative to cleanse employment records of unrecognized or non-equivalent academic degrees, ensuring that supervisory positions are occupied only by individuals with valid, accredited qualifications in accordance with existing laws and regulations.
The sources added that the Academic Certificates Examination Committee will continue coordinating with the Ministry of Higher Education in the coming period to complete its review process. Upon conclusion, the committee will submit comprehensive reports detailing the examination outcomes and final recommendations, paving the way for any required legal actions.
