KUWAIT CITY, Jun 3: The Municipality Team at Farwaniya Governorate branch continues to supervise the demolition of 42 dilapidated buildings in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area as part of ongoing efforts to improve public safety and address structurally unsafe properties.

The demolition work is being carried out by a contracted company under the supervision of site manager Engineer Mubarak Al-Watari. According to the municipality, extensive precautionary measures were implemented before demolition began, including evacuating residents, disconnecting electricity services, and fencing off the buildings to protect pedestrians and prevent nearby vehicle parking.

Municipal officials said 15 of the unsafe buildings have already been demolished by the municipality, while owners demolished five others. The remaining 22 buildings are scheduled for demolition in accordance with a timetable prepared by the specialized safety team.

The municipality added that its teams, in coordination with relevant departments in Farwaniya Governorate, completed all required legal and administrative procedures, including issuing violations, disconnecting utilities, and placing evacuation notices on the affected properties ahead of their removal. The campaign is part of broader efforts to eliminate hazardous structures and enhance safety in densely populated areas.
