Kuwait Cracks Down on Traffic Violations in Qurain Area

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: Kuwait’s General Traffic Department conducted a traffic and inspection campaign targeting vehicle rental offices in the Al-Qurain Markets area on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing the sector.

The campaign, led by Assistant Director General for Education and Coordination Affairs Colonel Nawaf Ahmed Al-Sabah, included inspections of vehicle rental offices and vehicles to verify compliance with required standards.

The campaign resulted in the following:

  • 38 citations issued to offices violating regulations, along with orders to impound.
  • 55 traffic violations recorded.
  • One person wanted arrested and referred to the relevant authorities.
  • One vehicle impounded for missing front license plate.

The General Traffic Department said it will continue conducting traffic and inspection campaigns across various areas to ensure compliance with regulations and take legal action against violators, with the aim of strengthening traffic discipline and protecting road users.
