Kuwait Cracks Down on Traffic Violations, Impounds 63 Vehicles

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: Kuwait’s General Directorate of Traffic has intensified field inspections across several areas of the country, issuing 67 traffic violations and impounding 62 vehicles and one motorcycle as part of efforts to improve road safety and enforce traffic regulations.

The campaign targeted a range of traffic offences, including violations of overtaking rules, failure to comply with lane markings, speeding, failure to use turn signals and parking in prohibited areas. Traffic officers also monitored and took action against other violations and unsafe driving practices.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the campaign resulted in 67 traffic violations being recorded, while 62 vehicles and one motorcycle were impounded.

The ministry said the campaign forms part of ongoing field operations aimed at strengthening traffic discipline, ensuring motorists comply with traffic laws and reducing dangerous driving behaviour that could put other road users at risk.

Authorities have been carrying out intensified traffic campaigns across Kuwait to address violations and improve compliance with road safety regulations. The Ministry of Interior urged motorists to follow traffic rules and avoid practices that endanger their own safety or that of other road users.

The ministry stressed that such campaigns will continue as part of efforts to create a safer and more orderly traffic environment across the country.
