KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has reaffirmed that citizen cooperation remains a fundamental pillar in maintaining the security and safety of residential neighborhoods. The ministry stressed the importance of reporting houses suspected of being used as bachelor accommodations or illegal worker housing within residential areas, noting that such reports can be made through the nearest police station as part of a shared community responsibility.

In a statement, the MoI explained that public cooperation enables competent authorities to promptly follow up on violations and take action in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, in a manner that serves the public interest.

The ministry clarified that the use of houses located in residential areas as bachelor accommodations or worker housing constitutes a clear violation of regulations, citing potential negative consequences related to public safety, security requirements, and the overall residential environment. The MoI emphasized the need to raise awareness about strict adherence to laws governing residential use.

In this context, security authorities recently responded to a fire report at a house in the Rawdah area. Upon arrival, officials discovered that the property was being used as an illegal bachelor accommodation housing more than 50 individuals. Necessary measures were immediately taken in line with approved procedures.

The landlord was referred to the competent authorities, the homeowner was summoned, and legal action was taken against both parties as part of the ministry’s commitment to enforcing the law without exception.

The Ministry of Interior renewed its call for continued public cooperation, urging citizens and residents to report similar violations by contacting their local police station or the Public Security Operations Center at 96643983. The MoI emphasized that such cooperation plays a vital role in supporting preventive security efforts, strengthening community partnership, and preserving the safety and stability of residential areas.
