KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: Ministry of Interior’s Cybercrime Department arrested a Kuwaiti citizen and two Arab nationals for promoting a social media application that encouraged high school students to cheat on their exams. According to security sources, the Ministry of Education had reported a social media site that offered exams and questions for sale and attempted to lure students. The Criminal Investigation Department tracked the site and identified the individuals behind it, leading to their detention for questioning.

Investigators also identified several phone numbers linked to students and their parents, who are now being summoned to determine whether they obtained any exam materials from the site. The cheating scheme was uncovered after multiple students were caught using small earpieces during exams. Upon questioning, they admitted to communicating with the promoters through two social media accounts, prompting coordinated action between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Interior. The sources emphasized that strict measures will be taken to prevent further attempts to compromise the integrity of school exams.
