Kuwait Crackdown Targets Drugs, Theft and Visa Violation Offences in Amghara Scrap Area

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29: As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen security and maintain public order, the Ministry of Interior carried out a wide-ranging security campaign in the Amghara Scrap Area of Jahra Governorate on Monday, December 29, 2025.

The operation was led by the Jahra Governorate Security Directorate, under the Security Directorates Sector, in coordination with the General Directorate of Special Security Forces. The campaign aimed to address violations, enhance public safety, and enforce the law in the area.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the operation resulted in multiple arrests and enforcement actions. Authorities arrested one individual in connection with a drug-related case and another suspect in a theft case. In addition, twelve individuals were detained for absconding, while 20 people were found to violate residency laws. Security forces also seized one vehicle that was reported as wanted.

During the campaign, traffic patrols issued a total of 31 traffic violations as part of efforts to improve road safety and compliance with traffic regulations.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to continuing security campaigns across various regions of the country and taking firm legal action against all violators. The ministry stressed that these efforts are aimed at preserving security and stability, protecting public safety, and ensuring the rule of law is upheld at all times.
