KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: A final court ruling has upheld a sentence of one year in prison with hard labor against a social media influencer convicted of impersonating a lawyer and forging defense memoranda for defendants, following a complaint filed by the Kuwait Bar Association.

The ruling comes as part of the association's ongoing efforts to confront individuals falsely claiming to practise law, protect the legal profession from unauthorized practices and safeguard the rights of litigants.

The Kuwait Bar Association has continued to pursue action against those who allegedly misuse the title of lawyer or engage in legal practices without authorization, stressing the importance of preserving the integrity of the profession and protecting the public from unlawful practices.
