Kuwait Court Upholds KD5,000 Compensation for Wrongfully Terminated Health Ministry Employee

KUWAIT CITY, June 23: The Court of Appeals upheld the ruling of a lower court, which obligated the Ministry of Health to pay KD5,000 compensation to a female senior electronics technician, reports Al-Seyassah daily. This followed the annulment of her termination, which was based on her alleged absence from work for 15 days. The court ordered the ministry to reinstate the employee. The employee, who was surprised by the termination decision, filed a case through her lawyer, Mohammad Al-Sayegh. Al-Sayegh confirmed to the court that his client worked during the period in question, which prompted her to appeal the decision and request its annulment. After the issuance of the final ruling, Al-Sayegh filed a claim for compensation on behalf of his client for the damages she suffered as a result of the decision. The court ruled in her favor, ordering the ministry to pay her KD5,000 compensation.
