Kuwait court upholds death sentence for Kuwaiti over abduction, sexual assault of Syrian child

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: The Second Circuit Court of Appeal has upheld a death sentence against a Kuwaiti citizen convicted of abducting and sexually assaulting a 9-year-old Syrian child during an outing to perform Eid prayers in Maidan Hawally.

According to the case details, the child was abducted while he was out to perform Eid prayers and was later left without clothes in front of a school in the Rawda area.

The accused was arrested by Capital Investigations within less than 24 hours of the incident.

The court proceedings also noted that the accused had previous convictions in kidnapping and sexual assault cases.

The Court of Appeal's ruling upholds the death sentence issued in the case.
