KUWAIT CITY, June 10:In a recent ruling, the Court of Cassation, led by Counselor Sultan Bouresli, has upheld the death penalty by hanging for two Iranian nationals convicted of attempting to smuggle 189 kilograms of hashish and psychotropic substances by sea from Kubbar Island. The verdict came after an interception by the Coast Guard and the Drug Control Department.

The defendants admitted to the charges and disclosed to the court that they were heroin users. They confessed to departing from the Abadan area on a cruiser with a different quantity of drugs before setting a course towards Kuwait from the agreed-upon location.
